Automatic updates to Windows 10 21H1

Microsoft has started automatically upgrading a large number of Windows 10 devices that are nearing their end of life to Windows 10 21H1. According to BleepingComputer , earlier this month, Microsoft started training their machine learning algorithms to automatically upgrade a small number of Windows 10 2004 users to Windows 10 21H1. Microsoft made this training to spot issues that might arise during the update process before upgrading to a larger Windows 10 user base. For most people, Windows 10 21H1 is still being offered as an optional update that is shown when manually performing Check for updates in Windows Update. Microsoft explains on the Windows 10 21H1 announcement page: “We are now at the beginning of a new phase in our rollout. Using past machine learning training, we are increasing the number of devices selected for automatic updates to Windows 10 version 21H1, which will continue to train our machine learning through all stages to bring the best update experience to users”. With Windows 10 2004 expiring on December 14 of this year, many devices running Windows 10 versions will automatically be upgraded to the latest version.
